In 2008 my mother was diagnosed with breast and colon cancer at the same time. After her diagnosis, she went to a local Obama campaign office to volunteer. Throughout her treatment, she only missed two days of work and continued to volunteer 4 times a week. She has been in remission for years and continues to help other people get the medical treatment and healthcare they need and deserve.
